Obituary
John Godwin, of Trevethin, South Wales, was the son of Jack & Eileen Godwin, brother to Philip & Robert Godwin. He was a loving husband to his dear wife of 60 years, Marianne Godwin, and father to Sarah & Joanna. Grandfather to Mathew & Daniel. A dear and respected uncle to all his nephews & nieces.
Rising from humble beginnings in the valleys of South Wales, John had an exceptional mind and an ingrained determination to do well in life, graduating with a BSc in Mechanical Engineering from Manchester University. Soon, his intellect and adventurous spirit saw him travelling the world, carving a life for himself and his family, living in countries such as Brazil, Germany, Belgium and Singapore. He worked across South America, the Middle East and Asia, and was held in high esteem wherever he went. John always had wonderful anecdotes about the places he had been. There are so many great stories of his exploits and achievements. A keen historian, lover of motorbikes, with a wry sense of humour. Deeply valued and loved by his family & friends. A good man, a resilient man, a Welshman.
